The Facilitation Lab

A Certified Training Course into the Art of Holding Transformational Spaces

Begins November 2025 (online) with live sessions every two weeks + coursework + supported practice

What is the course?

This course is a comprehensive, five-month training into the art of facilitating transformation - designed for both experienced and emerging facilitators seeking to deepen their presence, broaden their toolkit and stand in their full confidence. Whether you're new to holding space or have years of experience, this journey is a deep dive that will support you in developing the practical skills, embodied awareness and inner confidence needed to navigate group work with care, clarity and creativity.

Together, we will explore areas in more depth than our flagship residential and online offerings - inclusion, emotional depth, trauma-informed practice, creativity, addressing conflict and transformative group dynamics - and gain real-world experience through structured facilitation practice and reflection.

What will we Explore?

Each module blends teaching, experiential work and peer reflection to deepen your understanding and stand in your transformative power as a facilitator. Core themes, which can be applied to both in-person and online settings, include:

  • The Foundations of Holding Space
Building presence, trust, safety, and attunement in group settings.

  • Facilitation Tools, Models & Methods
Group process design, decision-making tools, check-ins and embodiment practices.

  • Trauma-Informed Facilitation
Understanding nervous system responses, psychological safety and boundaries in practice.

  • Holding Strong Emotion
Responding to vulnerability, emotional overwhelm, shutdown or other emotional responses with steadiness and skill.

  • Awareness of Inclusion and Equity
Power dynamics, identity and building containers where all voices matter.

  • Creativity & Emergence
Using story, movement, nature, ritual and play to deepen engagement and insight.

  • Conflict Transformation
Addressing interpersonal tension, disagreement and resistance with openness and structure.

  • Transformative & Breakthrough Facilitation
Creating moments of insight, collective clarity and deeper change.

  • Your Unique Facilitator Style & Inner Work
Exploring your values, edges, triggers and growth areas as a practitioner.

  • Ethics & Boundaries in Group Work
Consent, scope of practice, confidentiality and group agreements.

What is the Course Structure?

  • Live Sessions:
2 hours every 2-3 weeks (via Zoom), including teaching, practice and group dialogue.

  • Coursework Between Sessions:

    • Personal reflection

    • Practice tasks to try out learnings in real-world settings

    • Readings, videos, podcasts and other inspiration

→ Each with self-reflection, peer feedback and process notes

Who is this For?

This course is open to all levels - from those just starting out to experienced facilitators seeking new edges. You might be:

  • A coach, educator, team leader, therapist, consultant or practitioner.

  • Looking to hold more space as a career path or in your community.

  • Curious about how to bring more presence, equity and impact to your work with groups

What will you Come Away With?

This is not just a course. It’s an invitation to step more fully into your craft and your calling as a facilitator. This journey will take your practice to new depths. You'll come away with not only tools and techniques - but the embodied confidence to hold complex, alive and transformational spaces with grace and clarity.

By the end of this course, you will feel rooted in your unique voice as a facilitator, with a deeper trust in your presence and leadership. You will have grown your confidence to design, hold and reflect on powerful group processes, from beginning to end, and gain a clearer sense of the bigger picture of group transformation. And you will be a certified Transformative Facilitator with Change in Nature.

Most of all, you will leave this course changed - not just as a facilitator, but as a human being. You will have not only refined your skills, but deepened your purpose and your capacity to share your gifts more skilfully with others. Because facilitation is not just something you do. It is a way of being in the world.
