What is Creativity Camp?

It’s a soft, spacious invitation for a few golden days nestled in nature - to come back to yourself after the swirl of August and see what you can weave with all the threads that summer has given you.

Everything is an invitation. Take it all at your own pace. To sit beside others creating something with your hands, walking with song or simply drinking tea under trees. Where creativity is not about “being good at….” but about letting yourself reconnect. The intention is to meet you as you are - whether you’re burnt out, brimming with ideas or not quite sure why you’re drawn here.

It’s all held in a welcoming, nature-rich space - with open fires, delicious food cooked outdoors and time to simply be. Wander. Nap. Journal. Lie in the grass. Sit with your back to a tree. Follow what your body feels and the excitement of your curious heart.

What will I come away with?

Wooden creations, clay pots, drawings and songs! You might leave with something you've made, a poem you have written or a story you didn’t know you needed to tell. You might leave with a sense of deep rest or new creative courage in your pocket that could lead to new projects and happenings beyond. Mostly, you’ll leave with the reminder that your creativity is vibrant within you.

What will we be doing?

Plenty... yet there is nothing you have to do!
The camp is curated and led by Andy Raingold & Marhta Tilston with guest creatives holding skilled workshops. Each day offers a beautiful array of creative happenings you can drop into as you feel for all levels of experience. We plan to offer:

Working with clay

Opportunities for green woodworking

Musical jamming with others

Voice play, song improvisation and singing in the woods

Firelit storytelling and creative writing

Wild sketching and drawing

And a private woodland concert with Martha Tilston

The Location

Held in a beautiful Dartmoor woodland setting, just as summer fades and autumn whispers in. Bring your tiredness, your curiosity, your longing. There’s a place here for you.

We make our camp in a secluded and magical 62 acre woodland in Dartmoor National Park, which is a rewilding site for nature and people. The site is rich in natural habitats, in badger setts, deer beds and fox dens, including an ancient beech grove, spruce forests, hazel coppice, wild flower meadows, a stream and mixed broadleaves. The site is home to an abundance of wildlife and rare birds, including nightjar, wood pipits and the mythical white deer. It is the ultimate escape from modern living with no electricity, road noise or wifi, and replaced with a sky full of stars and the sound of birdsong all around and owls calling at night.

We create a temporary village with fire pits, sheltered spaces, compost toilets and wild camping spots to provide an authentic, yet comfortable, experience in nature. We cook all our meals over an open fire, provide a smattering of solar powered fairy lights and fetch our water from the stream. At the center of it all is the White Deer Lodge, a large covered shelter where we gather in the evenings. A place where the old stories are told and heartfelt songs are sung.
