Our Impact Model: The Ripple Effect
Nurturing the relational root system
We believe that real change flows through relationships; between people, communities and the wider living world. That’s why, at their core, our transformative programmes are about how people relate.
We create spaces for people to connect deeply with nature and community and learn how to strengthen the wider social and ecological networks they’re part of. These relationships become the root system for wider transformation, through which values like care, collaboration and ecological responsibility ripple outward.
Three degrees of connection
Research in social and behavioural science shows that change moves through networks of trust - with people typically influencing their close friends, friends of those friends, and their friends in turn. Based on this model, the 2,500 people who have directly experienced our work can indirectly influence more than 300,000 people through three degrees of connection - a reach comparable to membership of the UK’s major political parties.
Ripples of regeneration
What participants ripple outward is more than a new skill or insight. They come to embody:
