Myth & Flame

A Beltane fireside of mythic wisdom and shared storytelling

Charity donation: pay what you feel (99p - £15)

Held by ‘Campfire Sam’ Crosby and Andy Raingold

Friday 2nd May (gathering from 6pm, fireside starts at 7pm) at Loveland, Penryn

Myth and Storytelling have long been the lifeblood of human connection. They are not just entertainment; they are living, breathing forces that shape cultures, guide us through change, and weave the threads of past, present, and future into a shared tapestry. This Beltane fireside invites us to step into that tradition - not as passive listeners, but as active participants in the unfolding mythic moment.

This marks the Celtic festival of Beltane - a threshold of transformation, a festival of fire and fertility, a time when the veils between worlds grow thin. It is a season of ignition, not just in nature but within us, sparking the ancient embers of story and wisdom that reside in us all.

The Journey We Will Take You On

There will be:

🌿 Traditional Oral Storytelling – We’ll explore live, improvised mythmaking, tapping into the wellspring of fairy tales and folklore that have been told for generations.

🌀 Mythic Common Ground – A timeless practice for community sharing of feeding the story.

A Reorientation to Your Own Mythic Wisdom“Wisdom isn’t about learning something new; it’s about remembering what you’ve always known.”

🔥 The Shared Flame: Rekindling Connection Across Generations – An open space to reflect on our role at different life stages and the importance of intergenerational bonds. What responsibilities do we hold as we move through life? How do we ensure the embers of wisdom are passed down, rather than fading into ash?

🎭 A Big Dose of Depth and Lightness – Embracing both the profound and the playful in our storytelling journey.

🥗 Bring-and-Share Dinner – A communal meal with plenty of warmth and good company.
