Nature Quest
Practical Info
Welcome to Nature Quest 🎉🌎 We’re can’t wait to share this experience with you!
We invite you to the wild edges… Where transformation takes place. Our Nature Quest is an adventure into the depths of nature and your inner knowing. Together with a supportive community of fellow questers, we will slow down and attune to nature’s rhythms, step over a threshold into the unknown while holding our deepest questions, and dream into how we can offer something more true, bold and beautiful to our communities and beyond. It will be a creative, soulful and restorative journey of becoming into the places where we feel most alive. 🌱🎶
Dates
Wed 2nd July (1.30pm) to Sun 6th July (noon) 2025
Arrivals and Departures
Arrivals: Please aim to arrive on site from 1.30pm on Wednesday. This will give you time to set up your tent and familiarise yourself with the site. We will formally gather at 3pm.
Departures: We will finish by noon on Sunday (but please also allow time afterwards to take down your tent). Some people may wish to go to one of the local beaches before heading home (there might be a group trip for those who are interested!!!).
Travel
By car – The location on google maps is here. More info on how to find the site is here: http://polcoombe.co.uk/how-to find-us/.
By public transport – The nearest station is Liskeard. We suggest getting a shared taxi around 1.40pm from Liskeard on Wednesday (there is a train that gets in at 1.37pm). On Sunday, we suggest booking any train that leaves after 1pm (or a bit later if you want to go to the beach before heading home).
If you are running late on the day or need to contact us, please text or call our camp phone - 07754 204074.
On arrival (by car or taxi). When you get to the site, you go down quite a short, steep narrow lane, and then there is a car park on your right and a track on your left. It would be worth going down the track which goes all the way to the main village space (there is a big container on your right with a place to turn around) - to drop off tent and belongings, and then drive back to the car park (its about a 5 min walk).
Vans - We suggest parking vans in the car park - and once everyone has arrived, we can explore where would be the best place for them. There are a few options to park on the track. Please do let us know if you are coming by van.
Accomodation and Facilities
We will be camping at a private nature connection site called Polcombe. This is an absolutely stunning and wild site but it has no infrastructure connections (i.e. no electricity or running water). There is a compost toilet and a stream for washing (but do bring eco toiletries). Our light will come from the fire and a smattering of solar lights, and our water for washing up will be fetched from the stream (drinking water will come from a water bowser).
We realise that not everyone is accustomed to spending time off-grid, so we will make every effort to ensure that you are comfortable and can enjoy this time going "back to basics".
There is ample space for camping and camper vans are welcome too!

Kit List
Comfortable & casual outdoor clothes including waterproofs (both jacket & trousers)
Warm layers for the evening (fleeces etc.)
Outdoor shoes (if you have space, would be also great to bring wellies to explore the more boggy parts of the site)
Hats (sun hat / woolly hat – depending on the weather)
Wrist watch (preferred) or other simple time keeping device that is not your phone. Please borrow one from friends or family if you don’t have your own.
Sun cream, environmentally friendly toiletries, anti-viral hand sanitiser
Earplugs & eyemask (if you're a light sleeper)
Water bottle
Torch / headtorch with working batteries
Notebook & pen / pencil
Something special, colourful and celebratory to wear for our last night
Instruments (if you have any!)
All your camping stuff: tent, sleeping bag, pillow, ground matt, etc.
Hot water bottle
Blanket and (optional) cushion to sit on that you don’t mind being outside
Bivy Bag. If you don’t already have one, we suggest investing in one. We recommend getting a Gortex second hand bivvy bag (such as here) – they are great things to have for sleeping out in nature! Don’t worry if you can’t get one for whatever reason, as we have plenty of spares.
A tarp (if you would like one).
Food and Drink
We will be cooking up delicious, hearty and healthy breakfasts & dinners – concocted with fresh (mostly organic) vegetarian ingredients.
Please note that lunches are not provided on this course. Make sure to bring your own packed lunches and note that there are no refrigeration facilities.
You might want to supplement meals with snacks you bring yourself (but we request that these are vegetarian if that works for you).
There will be a bottomless supply of tea available to keep you energised throughout! Please note this is an alcohol free event.
Nature Immsersion
There is an invitation to do a 24 hour nature immersion in silence – either solo or in proximity to others. This is likely to take place on Friday morning to Saturday morning. It is recommended that this kind of ceremonial nature practice is down with little or no food – but this also depends on any needs you might have. If you would be more comfortable having food, this is very welcome. The main this is to make this experience work for you. So people will approach this different. You may want to fast for the 24 hours. Alternatively, if you would like to eat something, please bring with you any food or snacks that you would like (we will not be providing any catered food during this time).
In this same spirit, you can decide how you want to set up your camp for the immersion. Most people tend to have quite a minimal set up in a secluded spot in nature, with a bivy bag (and perhaps a tarp if it rains). But you may wish to bring your tent with you too!
Digital Detox
One of the things that people find most beneficial about our retreats is the opportunity to enjoy a multi-day digital detox. We encourage you to get any last minute correspondence done before you arrive on site, as we will invite you to lock your phone in a box when we first gather on Wednesday. We also recognise that this is not possible for everyone (particularly those with care responsibilities) and can explore what feels possible and good for you.
If you’d like to be contactable during our week together (e.g. in case of an emergency), please do share our camp phone number with friends or family – 07754 204074. It is best to send a text (rather than a voice message).
We cant wait to come together for this rare and profound opportunity to listen deeply to nature and the murmurings of our souls.
