Education Team Day
Welcome to the Education Team Day with Change in Nature!!!
We are really looking forward to the team day in nature. We hope the day feels like a bit of a treat - time out of the office for deeper connections to yourself, the team and nature. It is taking place in a stunning 50 acre rewilding project near Polperro. Expect connecting around a fire in a roundhouse, shared food and a private woodland sauna! As well as slowing down and having fun, some of the objectives for the day are:
• Strengthen Team Connection
Build trust, understanding and a sense of unity across the team.
• Deepen Connection to Nature and Purpose
Reconnect with the natural world and the deeper mission that inspires the team's work.
• Create a Safe and Brave Space for Sharing
Open up honest, respectful conversations.
• Collaborate Effectively Towards Strategy
Explore how to work better together to deliver on the team's shared strategy and vision.
We don’t share an agenda in advance - as we like to keep things emergent and flexible with a sense of timelessness. But know there will be lots of invitations to connect in different ways to meet these objectives.
Date
Wednesday 26th November 2025
Arrivals and Departures
Arrivals: Please aim to arrive on site between 9.15-9.30am on Wednesday.
Departures: We will finish by 5pm.
Travel
By car – The location on google maps is here.
On arrival. When you get to the site, you go down quite a short, steep narrow lane (please take this really slowly!), and then there is a car park on your right and a track on your left. Drive down the track all the way to the outdoor kitchen (there is a place to park three of four cars there - and you will see a small blue toyota aygo!).
Facilities
We will be spending the day at a private nature connection site called Polcombe. This is an absolutely stunning and wild site. Please be aware that it has no infrastructure connections (i.e. no electricity or running water). There is a compost toilet and a stream for washing. We will provide lots of drinking water and lighting (where needed!).
Kit List
Comfortable & casual outdoor clothes including waterproofs (both jacket & trousers)
Warm layers (fleeces etc.) and hat
Outdoor shoes
Water bottle
Torch / headtorch with working batteries (for when it gets dark towards the end of the day)
Notebook & pen / pencil
Hot water bottle
Blanket (optional!)
Swimming costume and towel (for the sauna!)
Food and Drink
The team will be having a bring-and-share lunch (for the five of us). So do co-ordinate what to bring - as well as some healthy snacks for the day. There is an outdoor kitchen where it will be possible to heat things up and do a bit of chopping (but best to bring pre-prepared dishes). Change in Nature will provide tea and coffee.
Digital Detox
One of the things that people find most beneficial about our programmes is the opportunity to enjoy a digital detox. We encourage you to get any last minute correspondence done before you arrive on site and put on an out of office responder, as we will invite you to put your phone in a “phone hotel” when we first gather. We also recognise that this is not possible for everyone (particularly those with care responsibilities) and can explore what feels possible and good for you.
If you’d like to be contactable (e.g. in case of an emergency), please do share our camp phone number with friends or family – 07547 654445.
We cant wait to come together for this rare opportunity to slow down and connect with purpose.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to get in touch
