Sliding Scale Pricing
We offer a sliding scale so that people in different financial situations can access our work. We ask you to choose the rate that feels honest and manageable for you - a choice made with care for yourself and for the wider community.
The guide below can help you find a rate that fits.
A supported rate may be right for you if you:
are in receipt of benefits
carry significant debt or have limited savings
are studying full time
are a senior citizen on a low, fixed-income
would struggle to meet essential needs if paying the regular rate
A standard rate may be right for you if you:
have a steady, but not abundant, income
can meet your rent, bills and essentials reliably
have some flexibility for non-essential spending
may need to make small adjustments to join the programme
A supporter rate may be right for you if you:
own your home or have significant savings or investments or inheritance
have access to financial support from family if needed
can comfortably afford travel or leisure costs
have high earning potential due to education or other forms of social privilege
work part time by choice
would like to help others participate by contributing above the true cost
Sacrifice vs Hardship
When choosing your contribution, it can help to distinguish between sacrifice and hardship:
Sacrifice might mean making short-term adjustments (like fewer meals out or delaying a purchase) without affecting your long-term wellbeing.
Hardship means the payment would compromise your ability to meet your basic needs such as food, rent or transport.
We invite you to choose a level that may involve sacrifice, but never hardship.
Bursaries
If the lowest rate on the scale is still out of reach, we do offer a limited number of bursary places covering 50–60% of the standard price. We can also arrange instalment plans to spread the remaining cost. If you feel called to join us but finances are a barrier, please reach out - we will always try to find a way. You can apply for a bursary here.
